Requirements Analysis

This step in the project defines:

  • Data to be monitored and sampling event / frequency

  • Control schemes

  • What data is to be displayed to the operators

  • Data analysis

  • Data logging

Most of the requirements analysis must come from the process engineer.  Automation Technologies can help explore options, advise what is easy (inexpensive) to implement, and what is hard (expensive) to implement.  For large systems we often use UML to help define and diagram interactions, data flow, sequences, timing, states, and activities.
